Description
As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the financial analysis activities of Graycor Inc and subsidiary Companies (GCC/GIC/GIC) by being responsible for Internal Month End Reporting (GCC/GIC/GSI), Budgeting/Forecasting as well as Financial Analysis of overall performance of organization. Over time, secondary responsibility includes being a back up for Manager of Financial Reporting, which requires understanding of the general ledger activities involved in the month end close and consolidation/external financial reporting process of the Graycor Companies.
Reports to the CFO.
At Graycor, You Will Have the Opportunity To:
- Internal Month End Reporting
- Responsible for Internal Month End Reporting and Understanding of the drivers of Performance for their assigned Companies/Businesses. This includes:
- Variance analysis of Actual Results: ie Job Costs/SG&A/Misc Income & Expense/Balance Sheet (AR/AP etc)
- Includes liaising with Manager of Project Accounting/Projects accountants who account for the individual projects to understand the status of material projects in the individual companies’ portfolios and assessment of overall financial risk.
- Analyzing of information/providing feedback to help business improve margin/working capital
- Presentation of such results in a digestible and actionable fashion
- Understanding of industry benchmarks and what can be done by business to be able to achieve them
- Responsible for preparing monthly PowerPoint presentations to communicate monthly performance to Executive Team and assist in preparation of board materials as needed.

- Responsible for Internal Month End Reporting and Understanding of the drivers of Performance for their assigned Companies/Businesses. This includes:
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Responsible for leading the annual budgeting process as well as the Monthly Forecasting process for all companies. Assist CFO in more permanent/low cost/efficient solution to building yearly forecasts. Utilize Salesforce.com to understand opportunity pipeline across company.
- Develop Tools to more effectively Monitor & Analyze Performance across all areas:
- Salary, SG&A and Insurance/Retro costs
- Project Performance – Understand what projects are driving results, how initial forecasts on project materialize to final results and what as a company can be done to drive profitability.
- Project Cashflows – Develop a Template for all Industrial & Buildings Business to use to forecast project cashflows to understand overall business unit requirements.
- Working Capital Reporting – Develop reporting to effectively monitor working capital at a project level/business unit level.
- Be more involved in Subcontractor Financial approval process & Develop/Execute New Customer Approval Process
- Desire to understand the business and processes involved in accounting for projects and risks associated with those projects.
- Support special projects impacting financial topics (ie payroll, forecasting tool, budgeting tool, reporting etc).
- Lead in the creation of Master Data Clean Up and Master Data maintenance process for organization in all areas that affect Finance.
- Become a backup to the Manager of Financial Reporting/Consolidation.
- Ensure a high level of communication of financial project management information to Company leadership, Business Unit Finance Managers, Corporate Accounting, Project Accounting and other internal customers.
- Formulate recommendations for management’s consideration and possible implementation.
- Responsible for managing 1 direct report.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Need:
- Minimum of ten years of previous finance and accounting experience required; construction experience a plus.
- Undergraduate degree with a concentration or extended course work in finance, accounting, business management or other relevant discipline required.
- Desired - Knowledge of US GAAP and experience preparing financial statements (balance sheet, income statement/cashflows) as future back up for reporting manager activities.
- Continuous Improvement mindset to challenge ways of doing things on a consistent basis.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to partner effectively with all levels of staff and management with varying degrees of financial knowledge.
- Strong financial and business acumen combined with interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Previous experience interacting with project accounting and leadership teamsin remote project locations preferred.
- Strong Team Management Skills – Previous experience managing a diverse team is a must.
- Commitment to recruiting, mentoring, training, and retaining a diverse team; the foresight and ability to delegate accordingly.
- Advanced Excel skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint) required. Skilled in learning new systems and intuitive enough to propose improved solutions to reporting process. Systems used: JDE, Concur, Salesforce.com, others.
- Strong sense of urgency and initiative to achieve timely, quality results in a fast-paced environment.
