Description
As Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for processing the day to day payroll operations for 4 operating companies (500-1,500 employees). Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data. Prepare monthly union reports and payments to various unions. We are moving from JDE payroll to Kronos, should be able to adapt to learning old and new system. Provide ideas for process improvement within the department and the departments that interact with payroll. A person in this role has the potential to move into a more general accounting role or project accounting role in the future.
At Graycor, You Will Have the Opportunity to:
- Coordinate and process weekly/bi-weekly, union & non-union payroll, incorporating hourly and salary wage payments and other earnings and deductions, including various non-standard payments (severance, relocation, bonuses, etc.), garnishments, and employee benefit and other voluntary deductions.
- Provide payroll detail as needed for corporate federal and state income tax compliance.
- Prepare payroll reports to managers, supervisors, human resources and project accountants as requested.
- Ensure payroll data input is accurate, complete, and entered on-time
- Research and resolve payroll issues, and respond promptly to all payroll related questions from employees
- Be involved in some capacity in the Kronos implementation starting in January 2021.
- Perform adhoc accounting activities if required.
To Be Successful in This Position, You Will Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
- Minimum of five years in-house, full-cycle payroll experience.
- Multi-state payroll tax experience required.
- High volume payroll processing experience (1500 employees/paychecks or more) including exempt, non-exempt, and union payroll.
- Union payroll experience preferred but not required.
- Strong customer orientation with a strong sense of urgency when addressing payroll issues.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities; strong organizational skills.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication (written/verbal) skills; ability to work well with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Strong computer skills required (Kronos payroll software, MS Excel, Outlook, Word, Access); previous experience with JD Edwards AS400 accounting/payroll software is a plus.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and situations.
